Quaddie King – Coffs Harbour – January 14

SUMMER racing on a Sunday on the NSW coast at Coffs Harbour is a fabulous way to spend a day out. This is a very competitive Quaddie today:

First leg

We start this Quaddie with a Benchmark 60 Handicap over 1315-metres:

REDWOLF ($5.50) has won 5 with 9 placings from 32 starts, followed close 4th Ballina with 8th of 10 in Christmas Cup, Lismore. Drops back in grade, claim helps, can win.

ACADEMY HILL ($5.00) good effort when 2nd Ballina before 6th of 7 on the Sunshine Coast Boxing Day. This looks easier than last start, respect.

WATER BOY ($4.60) Murwillumbah 3rd was good effort before won a Lismore ‘55’. Racing well and has a chance again in similar field.

EDDY WOULD GO ($7.50) put together a strong of good runs before last start 7th of 8 Inverell, Jan 1. Not far away last time, respect, well worth another chance.

MONDAY’S EXPERT ($6.50) won 5 11 placings from 45 starts, very good run last start when 2nd Scone in a ‘55’. That form should be strong enough for this. Chance.

Second leg

Now we have another Benchmark 60 this time for the fillies and mares:

LIMITED ($3.70) returned from break with a win at Ballina before 5th same venue then good run 5th Clockwork Orange, Doomben Jan 3. Looks tough to beat.

VICTORY LASS ($4.00) is in hot form but gets right up in the weights now. Has won past two starts both Inverell, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Harder here but is in form.

HUMILITY ($7.00) second-up from a break last time when much improved effort, 4-length 6th Same Old, Gold Coast. Worth lot of thought now fitter.

CLIPAHOLIC ($5.50) followed 3rd at Armidale with 2nd Inverell in the ‘Battlers’ which is tidy form. One of the better chances in tough race.

SHANNONBROOK MISS ($7.00) has very good Queensland form, won back to back Beaudesert and Ipswich before last start flop at the Gold Coast. Chance.

Third leg

This third leg is the Pink Silks Cup over 1215-metres:

MISHANI HONCHO ($4.40) racing well, ran 4th in the Murrumbidgee Sprint before strong 3rd Inverell Cup last start. This looks ideal, hard to beat.

PORTATORIO ($2.80) has won 3 with 6 seconds from 17 starts, just missed 2nd Port Macquarie two runs back before 4th Wayne Harris, Musswellbrook last time. The danger.

BONNE CHEVAL ($4.40) has 7 wins and 7 seconds from 28 starts, ran 2nd here two runs back before outclassed behind Slow Burn at Rosehill. This suits, go well.

ELITE DUBLEO ($8.00) ran 2nd here two runs back before 6th Inverell Shorts last time. That was second-up when not far from the winner, fitter, respect.

EMPEROR OF OZ ($12) good winner here two runs back before failed at the Gold Coast last time. Back in grade and gets gate 1 so respect.

Final leg

We finish with a Benchmark 60 Handicap over 1615-metres:

MANHATTAN ROAD ($5.00) did a good job when 2nd here two runs back before 3rd last start same venue. Gets gate 1 and clever claim brings him in ell at the weights.

SYRAH ($3.20) ran 2nd at Taree in a Class 2 before last start 4th in a Class 3 Taree beaten just 1.8-lengths. Run very well in this, claim helps.

GALIANO ($3.30) has 5 wins and 9 placings from 38 starts, won Ballina before close 6th Sunshine Coast last time after riding the speed. Good effort that, fitter now, chance.

BONNIE SARE ($6.50) has 4 wins and 6 placings from 24 starts, far from disgraced last start when 7th in the ‘Battlers’ Inverell. Not the worst in this average field.
TEO TORRIATE ($8.50) only beat one home here two runs back but wasn’t far away, then good run last time 4th here in a ‘65’.

Worth some thought, finding form.
